Guacamole


The guacamole basically consists of an avocado dip , which is mixed with more ingredients that fill it with color and flavor. This recipe is a variation of the guacamole where the cottage cheese comes into play. What is magnificent about the avocado with the cottage cheese combination is that the preparation becomes a play of softness and creaminess , since they are elements that the 2 ingredients possess.

– Although this type of guacamole is full of subtlety it also has contrasts because is a bit spicy, is very fresh and it has a slight sweetness.

But you can go further and create a perfect combination by using the cottage cheese guacamole as garnish of a main course made with cottage cheese like the cottage cheese enchiladas. About the Recipe

  • Making the guacamole is easy, you will like the preparation.
  • We recommend using red onion in the recipe because it gives a better flavor to the guacamole.
  • In 10 minutes the guacamole will be ready.
  • The recipe is for 2 cups.


Ingredients

  • 4 Avocados (2.2 lbs)
  • 1 cup of Cottage Cheese (8.8 oz)
  • 1 Serrano Pepper (.4 oz)
  • 1 Tomato (5.2 oz)
  • 1 Lime (1 oz)
  • 1/4 of a Red Onion (1.2 oz)
  • 1 Coriander sprig (.3 oz)
  • 1/4 tablespoon of Salt

  • Cookware

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Mixing Spatula
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Fork
  • 1 Lime Squeezer (optional)

  • Directions

    Cut Ingredients


    1. Dice 1 tomato and then reserve.
    2. Remove the veins and the seeds of 1 serrano pepper.
    3. Finely chop the serrano pepper with the one you worked, 1/4 of a red onion and 1 coriander sprig; then set aside.



    Mix the Ingredients


    1. Scoop out the pulp of 4 avocados and put it in a bowl; reserve 1 avocado pit.
    2. Mash with a fork the avocados’ pulp that was put in the bowl, until having the consistency of a puree.
    3. Also add in the bowl:
    • The dices of the Tomato that was cut.
    • The Serrano Pepper that was minced.
    • The Red Onion that was minced.
    • The Coriander that was minced.
    • 1 cup of Cottage Cheese.
    • The juice of 1 Lime.
    • 1/4 tablespoon of Salt.


    1. Mix very well the bowl ingredients with a mixing spatula.
    2. Insert in the cottage cheese guacamole, the avocado pit that was reserved.


    The avocado pit serves to preserve the cottage cheese guacamole for a longer time.



    Creamy and Very Savory


    Variation: The guacamole can also be prepared with corn.
